Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Caryn Seidman-Becker is the co-founder and CEO of CLEAR, the secure identity platform, which uses biometrics to make proving you are you simple. When she and co-founder Ken Cornick began with CLEAR in 2010, they had a vision for a future that was both safer and more frictionless. They started in the toughest environment, the airport, and today have a platform that gives more than 10 million members experiences that are secure, predictable and time-saving in more than 60 venues around the country. Caryn leads 2000 team members who are all committed to growing CLEAR’s ability to create safe and easy member journeys and supporting its members, partners and communities.
President, Chief Financial Officer and Director
Kenneth Cornick has served as our President since 2010 and Chief Financial Officer since January 2020 and from our inception to 2017. In addition, Mr. Cornick serves as a member of our board of directors. Mr. Cornick co-founded CLEAR with Ms. Seidman-Becker in 2010. Prior to CLEAR, he was a partner at Arience Capital from 2003 to 2009. Mr. Cornick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College and serves on the Board of Trustees of LREI, a progressive independent school in New York City.
General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer and Secretary
Matthew Levine has served as our General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer since 2012, and Secretary since March 2022. From 2004 to 2012, Mr. Levine was the Associate General Counsel at Dealertrack (NASDAQ: TRAK), a software company, where he was responsible for merger and acquisition and technology transactions, and was part of the team that took Dealertrack public. Mr. Levine began his career as an associate at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, LLP, an international law firm. Mr. Levine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School.
Chief Technology Officer
Nicholas Peddy has served as our Chief Technology Officer since August 2022. Before joining CLEAR, Mr. Peddy served as Managing Director, Chief Technology Officer, Payments, Consumer and Community Banking of JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM), a multinational investment bank and financial services holding company, from November 2020 to August 2022. Prior to that, he served as Director, Software Engineering, of Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: UBER), a mobility service provider, from July 2019 to November 2020. From 2017 to July 2019, Mr. Peddy served in multiple roles at Capital One Financial Corporation (NYSE: COF), a bank holding company specializing in credit cards, auto loans, banking, and savings accounts. Mr. Peddy has served on the Board of Directors of the Diversity Center of Seattle since January 2020.
Richard N. Patterson Jr.
Chief Information Security Officer
Richard N. Patterson Jr. has served as our Chief Information Security Officer since December 2020. Prior to joining CLEAR, Mr. Patterson was the Head of Security Operations, Head of Risk at Bridgewater Associates, an investment management firm, from 2014 to 2020. Prior to that, he served as the Director of Information Security, Compliance and Privacy at PetSmart, a pet superstore, from 2011 to 2014 and Director of Security for Sidley Austin, a law firm, from 2006 to 2011. He also previously served as a special agent for the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Army Criminal Investigative Division. Mr. Patterson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton, and a Masters in Computer, Network and Information Security from DePaul University.
Chief Product Officer
Sam Hall has served as our Chief Product Officer since June 2021. From 2018 to 2021 he served as Chief Product Officer at Grubhub, an online and mobile prepared food ordering and delivery platform. Prior to joining Grubhub, from 2016 to 2018 Mr. Hall was Chief Product and Technology Officer at ClassPass Inc., a membership-based health club aggregator, leading the company’s engineering, product and design teams. Previously, he spent nearly ten years at Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN), serving as Vice President of Consumable Customer Experience and Vice President of Mobile. Sam has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of the Pacific and an MBA from the University of Washington.
Head of Public Affairs
Bill Guidera has served as our Head of Public Affairs since June 2022. Prior to joining CLEAR, Mr. Guidera was the acting Head of US government affairs for Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX), a subscription streaming service and production company, since 2019. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President for Public Affairs at 21st Century Fox and News Corporation from 2007 to 2019. Mr. Guidera also previously served as a Policy Counsel with Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT), a multinational technology corporation, from 1999 to 2007. Throughout his career, Mr. Guidera has worked with policymakers, senior executives and external audiences on technology policy in areas including cybersecurity, intellectual property, and internet commerce. He is a member of the Maryland bar, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bates College and a Juris Doctor from the Scalia Law School at George Mason University.
Executive Vice President, Growth
Catesby Perrin has served as our Executive Vice President, Growth since January 2020. Prior to joining CLEAR, Mr. Perrin was the Vice President, Corporate Development and Head of Global Strategic Partnerships at WeWork Inc. (NYSE: WE), a provider of coworking spaces, from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, he was the Vice President, Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships, Senior Director, Business Development and Director, Business Development of SoFi Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFI), a personal finance company, from March 2016 to September 2017, May 2015 to May 2016 and October 2014 to May 2015, respectively. From 2011 to 2014, Mr. Perrin was an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, an international law firm. Mr. Perrin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
Executive Vice President, People & Performance
Craig Hazenfield has served as our Executive Vice President, People & Performance since June 2021. Prior to joining CLEAR, Mr. Hazenfield led talent development, diversity, equity & inclusion efforts, and the HR business partner team for Two Sigma Investments’ growth businesses and corporate operations. Prior to that, he served on the People Operations leadership team at Google and oversaw the HR business partner team for half of Google’s tech organization. He also held HR business partner roles for Google Ads and Google’s hardware business. Mr. Hazenfield also previously served as vice president of HR for Staples Inc.’s U.S. retail business and Staples.com. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University and a Master of Business Administration degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Executive Vice President, Operations
Kasra Moshkani has served as our Executive Vice President, Operations since June 2021. Prior to joining CLEAR, Mr. Moshkani was the U.S. Chief Executive Officer for OYO Hotels & Homes, a global platform for booking hotel and home stays. Prior to that, he was Director & Regional General Manager at Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: UBER), where he oversaw ridesharing operations for various cities, states and regions across the U.S. Before that, Mr. Moshkani served as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of HireBrite, a technology company he founded that connects employers to students for jobs & internships. Earlier in his career, he worked in investment banking and private equity investing at Grail Partners. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
